Highlighting Young Professionals

One of our major objectives at Michigan Works! West Central is to prepare the workforce of tomorrow. The number of job openings across Michigan is high, and businesses are in need of dedicated, reliable employees.

According to a 2021 Gallup poll, Millennials and Generation Z (those ages 16-40) represent a combined 46 percent of the total U.S. workforce. They are tomorrow's workforce!

At Michigan Works! West Central, we recognize success. In spring 2022, we partnered with the Pioneer Group and Hearst Media to publish our first-ever "20 Under 30" magazine to highlight professionals younger than the age of 30 who are excelling in their respective field.

The 2023 publication was released in mid-June. To view the full publication, click here. To view pictures from this year's awards luncheon, click here.

Those highlighted in the magazine are off to great careers. For those still working to find their way in the workforce, it’s our job to help you advance your career and get the training you need to move into a high-wage, long-term position.

Nominations are now open for the 2024 class of "20 Under 30"! Nominate here!
